Last night they put Mickey Mouse in jail
For thought-crimes against maus-humanity
Including thinking in a cartoon
Other cartoons too scared to help
They all fear getting erased;
A real death sentence
I tried to get Mickey a public defender
They were very nice
But said they don’t do mice
Minnie got arrested protesting peacefully
Said Mickey had never been bad before –
They just drew him that way
If he survives she’ll stamp on his tail
Why did he buy all those banned books?
She’s learned the first lesson
Never groom a mouse to read
