Astral Vacation

Why bother?
What does it matter?
What difference would it make?

I created numberless amazing species
They saw food
Built skies to rival other gods’
They stuffed with soot

Infinite colors of light and life
Yet they write in black and white
Histories of wondrous feats
Never performed

Another asteroid threatens
I could send a team to swat it
Yet the dinosaurs were nasty, too

Chance is the universe’s sole necessity
My advice to myself is stand and watch

Creating new worlds just adds headaches
Sometimes you need to take a rest
